it's been oh so very quiet in the studio this summer

school starts soon

so I'm gearing up to get some sewing done.

new fabric is about to be ordered.

my Bernina is headed to the shop

to get cleaned and oiled.

my sewing space is getting cleaned up

and organized

i've had a couple projects though.

(forgive the quality of pictures...

they were mostly taken on the overcast

rainy days

that we were home

all those other days we were at the pool

with friends!)

This Michael Miller print has the most perfect creamy, winter white background.  Adorable with a turtleneck and skinny jeans underneath.

How do you get your sewing done?

Made this headband custom order early this morning.  Isn't it so sweet?

Will look very cute on a little girl in the matching dress.  

Here's how I get my sewing done.  How do you do it?

Tired of the copy paper she comes to hang on my leg while I sew.

 It's a delicate thing trying to sew with a baby tugging on your leg.

Okay, I give up.  Only one headband today.  But at nap time?  A quilt for her cowgirl cousin.  

Re-creating a hot item: Fabric Headbands

Our friend Deb is in town this weekend from Ohio with her frugal, finance-guy husband (and friend of Garland's, surprised?). Their request for the Three Sisterz?  Recreate the fabric headbands that are hot items by them in Cleveland.   So while the frugal finance guys took the kids to see Despicable Me, Deb and I set out to make these cute headbands.  Um, so cute.... and also Deb's first sewing project...E.V.E.R.
