Preppy Baby Step Stool

I have to admit, this project came about for selfish reasons. Baby C is only 7 months old, so he really doesn't need a step stool in his room just yet. But me on the other hand, I'm only 5 feet tall and I could use some help...especially when I'm trying to gently lower a sleeping baby into his crib! ;) Any short moms know what I'm talking about!?

I started with this plain, white step stool from Target:

And I bought some coordinating scrapbooking paper at Michael's...

I printed out the letter C, to use as a stencil for the top of the stool. I cut out the C & then traced it onto the green striped paper...

Then, I traced the sides of the step stool on the back of the argyle paper...

Finally, I used the Paper Modge Podge to finish it all up (Sorry, my hands were too sticky to take pics of this step!).

VOILA!

So cute! I've been trying to motivate myself to make a stool for my son, whose name also starts with C, and I've found it! Target just got added to my list of errands to run :-) Following now!
