Amy Butler, Silhouette SD. Have you met?

Oh.My.Goodness.

I got a 'lot' of Amy Butler from OnlineFabricStore.net and when Mary Larkin spied the PURPLE in it, she had.to.have a shirt.  And of course it was THE perfect way to practice using the Silhouette with interfacing.

Mary Larkin has no problem sitting for photo shoots.

We used Silhouette's brand of interfacing but it seemed so similar to Heat 'n Bond.

Wonder if that would work, too?

Our photoshoot was interrupted by a Jane-sighting. Jane is our neighbor and Mary Larkin's faaaavvvvoooorrrrite. She about hyperventilates when there is a Jane-sighting.

Okay, so I was going to hold off on this post until next week.  You know, try and stretch out my creative madness since it ebbs and flows these days.  BUT, I'm in some serious accessorizing heaven at the moment.  And I'm having some serious bloggy blog love with Vintage Pollyanna.  We got together last night to do some cross-bloggin-craftin-chattin.  It is seriously so much more fun to craft with someone else who a) you admire their abilities; and b) you like their sense of style and artiste.

So here is what I made yesterday.  I'm in love.  My OCD (and the dark roast coffee) kept me up until past midnight wanting to do more.  (Stupid when I have three sick kids and one sick hubbo.)

Here is it modeled after Plumtickled's Rosette tutorial.  It goes against my need to sew a straight line but I love the finished product so.  Seriously, am I the only type A sewer/crafter that is hating the gathered ruffles thing?  Love the look, hate the process.

Here it is adding some spice to a jean jacket.

And a little bit of color to a gray top. Can it get any cuter?!

Um, yes it can.  Look at it on a bag!

Another up close shot because you need to see it again.  Well, really, I need to because I lovingly (slightly begrudgingly?) handed over to Vintage Pollyanna.  It looked too good on her.

Some more fun with rosettes!

I have a Love Stitched rosette necklace that I adore.  I love how it lays perfectly on my chest--just at the right length.  I love that I can wear it dressed up or dressed down for every daywear .  The best part?  It's sturdy enough to withstand the grubby, grabbing, chubby, lovely hands of my nine month old.  Love Stitched says she makes 300 rosettes a day.  Can you imagine?  I eeked out exactly four today.  And three ended up on this fabulous pin.  I am definitely going to make a necklace next!

I love this.  I just do.  Can I toot my own horn?

Re-creating a hot item: Fabric Headbands

Our friend Deb is in town this weekend from Ohio with her frugal, finance-guy husband (and friend of Garland's, surprised?). Their request for the Three Sisterz?  Recreate the fabric headbands that are hot items by them in Cleveland.   So while the frugal finance guys took the kids to see Despicable Me, Deb and I set out to make these cute headbands.  Um, so cute.... and also Deb's first sewing project...E.V.E.R.

My 1950's Sewing Room

Court came up to Longmeadow this past week and while we had a number of sewing projects in mind, we ended up with an impromptu makeover of my sewing room.  I had toyed with repainting it but never really made it a priority until Court said she'd do it...okay...not going to pass that up!   I went with all white because I wanted the room to do the talking and not the walls.  I love walking in and seeing the stacks of vibrant fabrics and the multiple spools of gorgeous threads.  I wanted those things to be the focus of the room.  And are they ever!

Well....then I got greedy with my makeover.  I took it one step forward and whipped up curtains with Amy Butler's Bliss Bouquet in Turquoise.  Oh.My.Gosh.  My little 1950's cottage has come to life in my sewing room complete with Paint By Numbers.  Now if I could just figure out a way to serve a meal on my Pyrex Flamingo Pink dishes in there, I'd be all set!

So, my local textile store, Osgood's, got in a big batch of Amy Butler.  Probably 20 bolts of her top selling fabrics.  I went over there yesterday not sure what to expect.  I walked away totally overwhelmed.  I could have purchased every single bolt....but....well.....that would of been a large credit card bill.  So I settled three yards each of six or seven of my favorites.    Oh, and the Jack and Jill stuff is not Amy Butler.  I just bought it to make some baby stuff for Baby Hammond.

Anyone want a dress?  Let me know.
