::American Girl Doll Headband::

Ruthie shouldn't be the only girl with a headband!  Kit wanted one too and one that matched her dress.

Follow Flannery's original tutorial without the step of making a fabric tube.  I used a small Goody hair band and 11 1/2" of decorative elastic lace .

The rubberband fits snuggly under the hair.

Kit is so happy to get her hair out of her face!

Hot Fun in the Summer Time part 2

Flannery took the big girls to check out the Navy Pier, but seeing as it's 90+ degrees outside, I stayed home with the littles. I sent them outside to play and they quickly figured out what they wanted to do. Plastic bowls, wooden spoons, grass and leaves plus the hose made for a fun morning.

Quick Tip for Organizing Stairs

Ok, raise your hand if you have GIRLS.
And....raise your hand if your GIRLS move their stuff from room to room and floor to floor.
And....raise your hand if you are tired of taking everything up and down the stairs every day and night.
If you raised your hand for more than one of the above statements, then you are ready for this new system of mine.

Each girl gets a basket.
We happened to get ours at Jo-Ann's today for 50% off.  (WOOT!)
The basket has a little piece of chalkboard on the side so the girls can write their name.

Every time I come across someone's belongings, they go in the box.

And the goal is......every night each girl (minus the baby of course) has to bring their basket up to their room and empty it.

Mary Larkin was way too excited about stuffing her basket tonight.  To the point that when I emptied it out in her room, she had the come-aparts.
We'll keep working on it. But at least in the meantime, my stairs look tidy!

An Etsy Friend

I met a new friend, Keri... and she sews these darling place mats. When I picked up my finished items they were so beautifully wrapped and my girls love the dogs. Super easy to wash and adds some whimsy to the table. You can find her here.

Love these colors!

They brighten up the breakfast nook!

Red, White, Blue Star Applique

I saw this fabric in my stash and HAD to try it.  Cute, non?

But here's my dilemma.  Photographing this girl.  I had grand dreams of her smelling my neighbor's lilacs, but alas it was the best I could do just getting a head on shot of the shirt and applique.

I did a zig zag around the one and a straight stitch around the star.  I thought the star would be cute with some fraying after washing.

Not enough sun on her face?  Maybe.  Still, like I said, it's head on.

Cuz this is what was happening the bulk of our lil photo shoot.

And while she gave me photography heartburn, the girls and their friend Jane enjoyed popsicles.  Ahhh...summer.

Super cute applique, right?!  If you are lucky, maybe we'll share the pattern.  ;)

OH and by the way, stay tuned.  I'm taking a digital photography class for the month of June.  I may let you in on all my new tricks of the trade!

New Camera & Some Big Lovin'

A few developments here in Three Sisterz land......

First, holllaaaaa to my (Flannie Annie) new camera!

Take my picture, Mom!

Should I be disturbed that she wants to model for me AND take "Justin Bieber singing lessons"?
**When asked to clarify what those are, she just said, "I want to learn how to sing Justin Bieber."

The second development in Three Sisterz land is that we are all hunkered down at Court's in Paoli while my crew and I are in between homes (Mass-->Chicago).  We're excited for our B.I.G. move, but enjoying the lack of routine (oy), overall laziness of extended visiting with relatives.  Next stop?  Mimi and Pops and hopefully Molly's!

But in the meantime.....we are appliquing shirts to keep the girls busy.  They pick a shirt, shape and fabric and Court sews.

We are stacking crayons.

Or is it a crayon tower?

We're doing some cuddling with our cousins.

And some gazing into each other's eyes.  There may be some handholding, too.

Hope you have a great weekend, too, folks and don't let the April 1 snow get ya down!
