::The Three of Us::

I was cleaning out some cabinets as I often never do and I came across a picture from Molly's wedding in 2008.  I probably have a digital copy of this somewhere but let's make do with a picture of the picture, shall we?  It's a lot easier that way and I have a ton more housework  sewing  Real Housewives tv watching to do.

So anyhoo, Molly was totes looking gorge in this picture, Flannery was laughing and smiling and apparently I was singing along with the band.  I look like I'm literally looking AT THE BAND and singing with them like I know them.  I mean, look at my eye contact for cryin' out loud.  (In my next life, I'm coming back as Stevie Nicks with billowy clothes, a tambourine, ribbons on my microphone and singing "Whenever I Call You 'Friend' with Kenny Loggins.  But that's a whole 'nother post)

This is such a telling picture... because Molly ALWAYS looks gorgeous (so say me and Flann),  Flannery is ALWAYS laughing and smiling because she's got the best sense of humor, and me? well, I'm usually doing something ridiculous and goofy.

Here's more proof if you don't believe me:

In this pic, Molly is IN LABOR and on her way to the hospital.  How cute is she?  Who looks this cute while IN LABOR?  Did I mention she was IN LABOR!?  And just stopped to talk to a little pup from next door.

Molly, looking pretty as ever, with her little nugget, Eamonn.

And here again on her wedding day.  Beautiful.  She had hot pink wedding shoes and a birdcage veil.  Just stunning.

Here's Flannery with her sweet, Ginger.  Always, always, always with a smile.

Flannery smiling at the pool.

Classic Flannery.  Laughing.  Telling a funny story and when she's really, really laughing, she always points her hand out like that during the punch line.

And last but not least, much to my embarrassment, the proof that I end up doing something ridiculous when near a camera.

Like the time I met Ann Curry on national television.

Like the time I was singing along with/stealing a tie from/flirting with the lead singer of another wedding band.
(And no, my hubs is not worried that I'm going to run off with any lead singer.  In fact, he thinks it's quite hysterical and he TOOK this picture because he wanted to preserve my ridiculousness for all eternity.)

Or just like when I'm at home.

Hmmm, wonder what kind of pictures we'll take next week when we're all together?!

It's a Twizzlers Kinda Night

I had a day today. Again. Remember when I told you that I was being really strong about moving? Well, I am. Don't worry, I am.
But today I reallllllly missed my friends in Massachusetts.
As in, crying-while-eating-Twizzlers missed my friends.

Eleanor found me in this state and gave me a big hug and told me it was okay for me to be sad. And I thanked God about a million times in that brief moment that I had these guys.

Because no matter what, your home is where your family is, right?
Even if it means you miss your friends (and the Cape and lobstahs and purple cow frozen yogurt.)

And thankfully, this crew is WACKY and HILARIOUS so I can keep on laughing through the tears.

I mean, seriously, ONE WHOLE WEEK?!

I have so many ideas for blog posts and yet.....nothing....NADA....zero.....ZiP....for one WHOLE week.  (Um, Court, Mols, this is where you butt in and explain where we've been....).  Well, actually, Court is on spring break, I'm moving (are we there yet?) and Mols, well, she has a REAL job.

On that note, I have to say that my life on the road (or homeless as Eleanor tells everyone) has been both rewarding and terribly tiring.  A single mom I am, I am.  But a single mom that provides lots 'o activity to the point of exhaustion.  Including Duke gardens in Durham, NC.  It makes me so proud to take the girls to Duke as they've grown up watching Duke b-ball with their alum daddy.  When I told them we were going they said, "Will the players be there?"

We loooved the tulips but were bummed we missed the peonies--to early still.  Next time!

Oh, and I've had lots of fun playing with my new camera.

Fun, no?

New Camera & Some Big Lovin'

A few developments here in Three Sisterz land......

First, holllaaaaa to my (Flannie Annie) new camera!

Take my picture, Mom!

Should I be disturbed that she wants to model for me AND take "Justin Bieber singing lessons"?
**When asked to clarify what those are, she just said, "I want to learn how to sing Justin Bieber."

The second development in Three Sisterz land is that we are all hunkered down at Court's in Paoli while my crew and I are in between homes (Mass-->Chicago).  We're excited for our B.I.G. move, but enjoying the lack of routine (oy), overall laziness of extended visiting with relatives.  Next stop?  Mimi and Pops and hopefully Molly's!

But in the meantime.....we are appliquing shirts to keep the girls busy.  They pick a shirt, shape and fabric and Court sews.

We are stacking crayons.

Or is it a crayon tower?

We're doing some cuddling with our cousins.

And some gazing into each other's eyes.  There may be some handholding, too.

Hope you have a great weekend, too, folks and don't let the April 1 snow get ya down!

Patience por favor

I am a terrible blogger right now--my head is too full of details to even think about crafting, sewing, let alone blogging about it.  I mean, no one told me that moving required so many details?!  Oh wait........  In all seriousness, though, it may be a rough few months for me blog-wise, but I'll be back with new inspiration shortly.

Okay, now I am off to fill out forms, wait for the fire department to do an inspection of our fire alarms and pack for the road.  Fun times, yes?

--take this as a public apology to Court & Mols pulling all the weight--

Distraction oh Distraction

Have you ever seen my house this clean?
My guess is no.
Actually, I know the answer is no because I've never seen it this clean.

Probably why I feel look like this.

But it is all for a good cause.  Because the end result is this.

YEAH!  My husband is forcing me to move to the best city ever: CHI-Town, Windy City, Sausage Capital of the World! CHICAGO.  We're really psyched.  Now that I'm over the hard part of telling friends (AWFUL), it's onto the growing TO DO list of things we'll do when we get there.

1. Children's Museum
2. Field Museum
3. Running on Lake Shore Drive
4. FOOD.  GOOD FOOD.
5. Concerts at Ravinia & Milennium Park
6. Ikea, Container Store, Anthropologie, Whole Foods, Trader Joes...all the places that take me over an hour to get to now.
7. Art Institute
8.  What else?

That #8 is directed at you readers--what do YOU think should be on our Chicago to do list?

p.s.--I've got a FABULOUS vintage home, brick & stucco tudor in Longmeadow, MA that is crying out for a buyer who will take care of it.  Bueller?  Bueller?

I think I might like winter?

I live in the Northeast.
I used to suffer through this.
Until I decided to find the joy in it.

It may be icy.
It may be cold.
But it is refreshing.

And it makes me happy.
(Although looking at this picture I see what Eleanor means when she told me my teeth are yellow.)

I'm not saying I'll ever choose snow over the beach.
BUT, I can say that maybe just maybe I may look forward to this when winter looms next fall.

What do you do to stay sane through the winter?

Ruh Roh

I love when I download pictures off my camera and find that unbeknownst to me,
the kids have gotten a hold of it (probably because I was nursing, wiping tears or boo boos, cooking, etc......def NOT surfing the web or sewing.  DEF not.).

Sad.

Surprised.

Happy.

Silly.

Cocky.

Negotiating.

Mad.

Irritated.
