Vintage Cowboy Party: Part Two

Well, it's official. I'm a bad blogger. Waaaahwaaaaah.

For the past several months, I've been consumed by planning C's first birthday party (and loving every moment of it!). Remember my inspiration parties? Well, we had the party this past weekend...and it was everything I had envisioned. I had every intention of sharing all of the details with you. The problem? I was so busy playing hostess & celebrating that I didn't take any pictures! All my hard work...and nothing to show for it! I explained this to Courtenay & she replied, "Don't be sad. We made great memories. Everyone had fun." I suppose my dear sister is right... :)

Vintage Cowboy Birthday Party: Part One

Baby C is turning ONE in just a couple of weeks.  I guess that means I can't call him "Baby" anymore, huh?  I'm planning a first birthday party & going completely overboard...and I'm loving every part of it!  The theme is Vintage Cowboy.

I can't wait to show you what I've been working on (or shall I say, what I've been "purchasing" from Etsy).  Seriously, there are some talented folks out there.  Anyway, first up - some inspiration pictures!

I'm loving the daisies & galvanized tubs from this birthday party:

This idea for favors is so fun, don't you think?!  Included are cowboy hats, bandanas, sheriff badges AND horses.

And for food?  Easy, simple BBQ...always a crowd pleaser!

This party, just might be the sweetest party of all.  Lucky for us, The Tomkat Studio is an Etsy seller (hint, hint)!

Next up, I'll show you some of my recent Etsy party purchases & what the guest of honor (& his parents!) will be wearing!

A Day Late and......a Firecracker Short?!

So, in true Flannery (a.k.a., over extended and over traveled mother of three), I am a little late blogging Mary Larkin's SUPER-DUPER July Fourth themed party.  It was soooooo cool and I'm going to go ahead and pat myself on the back for a job well done.  Although, I have to say without my co-Bellelcaire Ave-Longmeadow blogger, Vintage Pollyanna, I could NOT have pulled it off.

First, she helped me conceptualize.  Then, she created these invites.  Let's just say....DROOL....when they hit my inbox.  She got it; totally captured the feel of a) the party and b) Mary Larkin (a.k.a., Sissy).    They are sweet, they are vintage and they incorporate my favorite color scheme: Tiffany blue and red.  Have you heard me talk about this before?  Perhaps here.

Anyway, she also helped me by taking her TWO kids to the grocery to pick up cupcakes and a special July Fourth platter.  I mean, my THREE kids trumps her TWO, right?!  Oy.

I did rally the troops for a trip to iParty where we got every July Fourth noisemaker, flag, streamer that we could find.  And, of course, Silly Bandz for the pinata.

What July Fourth party would not be complete without watermelon?  The menu was just that: watermelon and hot dogs.  Yum-o.

My beautiful girl modeling her special outfit.  A Three Sisterz original shirt and......a July Fourth tophat.

Ever the gracious host, here's the birthday girl waiting for her guests to arrive so she can show them exactly how to decorate a bike for the July Fourth.

Here is Vintage Pollyanna's babydoll showing off her decorating skills.  How precious is she?

Vintage Pollyanna's boy leading the pack.  He looks really serious, doesn't he?  Like he is going to beat the pack.

My oldest in a Three Sisterz red, white, and blue original.  She looks a little more casual, yes?  Either that or super confident that she can ride all by herself sans training wheels.

And finally, the moment we've been waiting for: cupcakes.

Ta-Da.  It was super fun.  May have to repeat next year!
