::Tutorial:: Fabric Letters with Mod Podge

Last week, Flannery & I hibernated in her sewing room & worked on projects all weekend long. The husbands kept the kids occupied with Toy Story 3, girl scout cookies & an attempted sledding trip JUST so that we could craft. You've already seen our beloved Drop Cloth Pillows. Next up, I introduced Flann to Modge Podge!

Supplies:
letters (other ideas: EAT, CRAFT, LOVE, LUCKY...you get the idea!)
different, but coordinating fabrics
foam brushes
modge podge
craft sealant spray
sand paper
favorite cocktails & starburst jelly beans (*optional, but HIGHLY recommended!)

Trace your letters on the back of your fabric (think, the back of the fabric is going to be glued to the front of the letter). Then, cut out your fabric.

Apply a thin coat of modge modge to your letter.

Place fabric onto your letter & apply modge podge on top of the fabric (we did 2 coats). Smooth out bubbles & bumps as much as possible. Don't worry if it's not perfect, we'll give you a shabby chic tip in a sec!

Allow letters to dry over night. When they are dry, take sand paper to the edges AND front of the letter to "rough" it up. It makes it frayed & shabby chic looking...perfectly imperfect! Spray with craft sealant when you are all done...then display!
